


A personal project of mine to study path tracing, lighting, and set dressing.

Unreal Engine 5, Quixel, Premiere Pro.
Process / Workflow
-Concept & Reference Gathering: Collected stills for lighting mood and color palette.
-Lighting Setup and scene blocking: Used REFERENCES FOR THE LIGHTING and setting up the scene.
-Blocking AND CAMERA SET UP: Established camera angles FOR THE SCENES AND shots I WANTED.
-Final Rendering & Compositing: FINAL COLOR GRADING and editing.
Challenges & Solutions
Challenge: the limitations of path tracing during its early versions.
Solution: During the earlier stages of path tracing, it came with a lot of limitations, such as DOF and noise. I utilized Premiere Pro during post-production to fix and amend these issues.
Reflection / Learnings
This project helped me refine my understanding of cinematic lighting and path tracing in Unreal Engine 5.
