








A personal project of mine to study cinematic lighting, 3D modeling, texturing, and VFX.
Software & Tools:
Unreal Engine 5, Substance Painter, Maya, UIANA MAP IMPORTER, and After Effects.
Process / Workflow
-Concept & Reference Gathering: Collected stills for lighting mood and color palette.
-3D MODELING AND TEXTURING: I MODELED SOME ASSETS AND TEXTURED THEM SO THEY FIT IN THE ENVIRONMENT.
-Blocking AND CAMERA SET UP: Established camera angles FOR THE SCENES AND shots I WANTED.
-Lighting Setup: Used REFERENCES FOR THE LIGHTING AND MOOD, adjusted ALL EXISTING LIGHTINGS for a realistic APPROACH.
-Final Rendering & Compositing: FINAL COLOR GRADING AND ADDING VFX.
Challenges & Solutions
Challenge: REMAKING AN EXISTING STYLIZED MAP INTO A REALISTIC VERSION.
Solution: MOST OF THE STYLIZED ELEMENTS OF THE ASSETS HEAVILY RELY ON THEIR TEXTURES MORE THAN THEIR BASE MODELS, SO I FOCUS ON RE-TEXTURING MOST OF THE ASSETS AND REMODELING KEY ASSETS THAT WOULD BE THE MAIN SUBJECT IN THE SHOTS.
